(more)Established with a $15M grant from the DoD, NCERCAMP is a corrosion and materials performance research and testing center at The University of Akron. The Center houses equipment to perform mechanical testing, accelerated weathering, and high-temperature testing on virtually any material. Microscopy and spectroscopy equipment, including SEM/TEM, AFM, and a Scanning Auger, allow NCERCAMP to view materials at the nano-scale and in 3-D. Other capabilities include coatings formulation/testing, alloys development/testing, and microbially influenced corrosion research and testing.
