Smithsonian's Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage works with artisans around the world to document their traditions and address challenges faced in continuing their craft. The production of many of the related craft has shifted to non-Tibetan areas, notably Nepal and inner China. In an effort to sustain these practices within Tibetan communities, Smithsonian is working with Tibetan artisans to bring their handcrafted products to new markets.
